OVERVIEW:
The qualified individual will be able to conduct safe and effective therapeutic riding lessons to clients that are enjoyable and promote progression.
RESPONSIBILIES:
Safely and professionally conduct private, semi-private, and group horseback riding lessons.
Work as part of a team to deliver excellence in instruction and to celebrate progress and independence of clients.
Always ensure that horses are treated in a kind and humane manner that promotes optimal physical and psychological well-being.
Ensure correct tack fit and placement.
Mindful of the safety of all equines and people for the duration of the session.
Prepare appropriate lesson plans based on client riding skills, social level, and amount of volunteer support.
Complete weekly progress notes for each client.
Maintain all records such as timesheets, horse usage, incident reports, etc.
Communicate effectively with staff and volunteers regarding any needs for lessons.
Adherence to all PATH standards and Cloverleaf’s policies and procedures.
Maintain PATH CTRI certification and complete required continuing education and remain up to date with current criteria and best industry practices.
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Required Skills
PATH Intl. Certified at the Registered, Advanced, or Master Level Certification
CPR and First Aid Certified
Able to lift 50 pounds
Able to work in all weather conditions
Able to work afternoons and weekends

A creative, giving, and flexible spirit, with a willingness to try new things and make changes as needed as part of a team effort to grow the organization
Preferred Skills
Advanced level riding skills
Other equine and instructor certificates
Experience with individuals with special needs
