Leah Martin was just four years old when she started riding at Cloverleaf Equine Center!![]()
Born with hemiparesis - a one-sided muscle weakness that occurs due to a disruption in the brain, spinal cord or the nerves that connect to the affected muscles, therapeutic riding has given her a fun weekly activity and provided many benefits for almost 20 years now... in and out of the saddle! ![]()
“Her right side is much weaker, so horseback riding helps her use that right side and improve her core strength,” explains her father, Mitch. “When she was younger, she didn’t even know it was therapeutic. The ability she has now to control the horse using the right side of her body, which in day-to-day life she doesn’t really want to use, has been significant.” ![]()
Will you donate today to support the WHY of so many Cloverleaf clients and their families? Cloverleaf needs to raise $100,000 by December 31st to support programming in the coming season. ![]()
