Phoenix

Playful and Curious

Hi friends, I’m Phoenix! I’m a 14-year-old, 13.3hh Palomino Kentucky Mountain Saddle Horse gelding. Before joining the Cloverleaf herd in 2025, I worked as an Amish cart horse and later lived in New Jersey as a pleasure horse for my owner. I made my way to Virginia thanks to my owner’s niece, who works at Piedmont Equine!

I’m playful, curious, and always eager to learn new things, which makes every day exciting. Clients and volunteers alike say they adore my friendly demeanor and flowing golden locks! Fun fact: as a Kentucky Mountain Saddle Horse, I’m gaited- which means that in addition to walking, trotting, or cantering, I have a smooth, natural four-beat gait called an amble, or a rack!
