Paul Patterson
Board Member
Paul Patterson is a developmental pediatrician, father, husband, and innovator. He is a dual board-certified Pediatrician and Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrician at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. His commitment to this field is not merely professional but also personal, as a loving father to a daughter with disabilities. His daughter, Maddie, has been engaged in therapeutic riding at Cloverleaf for the past 14 years, an experience that has been immensely rewarding for her and the family, giving Paul a unique perspective and passion to improve the lives of children and families dealing with similar circumstances. He has volunteered for medical missions in Ethiopia and Ukraine to help improve the lives of children everywhere.
Paul’s previous positions have included Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (Attending Physician), Madigan Army Medical Center (Fellow), Chief of Current Operations at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Resident Engineer in Multinational Division North-Iraq, and Assistant Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the United States Military Academy, West Point, NY.
Paul is a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatricians. He holds an MD from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from The George Washington University, M.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering and Engineering Management from The George Washington University and Missouri University of Science and Technology respectively, and B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point. He also holds a patent for a biomedical device.

With a unique blend of professional expertise and personal experience, he is a strong advocate of children with special health care needs and their families as well as an ardent supporter of Cloverleaf Equine Center.
